The EUI-Net European Network on University Industry cooperation, funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus Thematic Network scheme organises its 3rd European Workshop during 14-16 May 2007 in the Italian capital, Rome

The event is devoted to " European Models and Best Practice of Practical Placements of Students" and includes contributions to be presented in plenary sessions on the following topics:

Theme I

·         From theory to practice and vice versa

·         Practical work experience in enterprises as a part of university curricula - benefits, expectations and cooperation models

·         Objectives of the practical training in higher education

·         The proportion of Practical training in the university curriculum

·         Tuning methodology applied for the Practical Placement

Theme II

·         Practical placement: Expectations and possible benefits from the point of view of:

o        Enterprises

§         Length of training

§         Personal development

§         Recruitment

o        Universities

§         Contact to enterprises through students and their supervision

§         First hand knowledge of needs in industry

§         Feed back to the education and influence on other parts of the curriculum

§         Further opportunities for cooperation at all levels

o        Students

§         First practical experience

§         Application of theoretical knowledge in a concrete environment

·         Organisational structures to support the realization of placements in Enterprises

Round table: Practical training in higher education (Moderator: Prof Dan Grigorescu, email: dangrig@geo.edu.ro , 2...3 synthesis presentations expected)

Call for Papers

   

The project partners and other prospective authors have been invited to submit already a full paper or an extended abstract ( 2 - 4 pages ) before May 1st 2007 with a clear mentioning of the topic from the list above, the name, the affiliation, the e-mail address and full address of each author as well as a contact-author. Submissions should be done electronically either by e-mail to Workshop secretariat  Simona Lache slache@unitbv.ro or Doru Talaba talaba@unitbv.ro )

Submission guidelines

The Proceedings will be published by the EUI-Net Scientific & Organising Committees. The instructions for authors follow the usual guidelines for the submission of papers for a conference presentation and may be between 4...8 pages or more and shall be submitted in an electronic format to the Workshop secretariat.

All papers submitted before the deadline will be included in the Conference Proceedings which will be published in the University Transilvania editions under ISBN.

In submitting a paper the author(s) agree/s that, upon acceptance, the first author will present the paper at the Workshop.

 

Fees

The 3rd European Workshop is held during the 3rd General Meeting of the EUI-Net European Network on Co-operation between University and Industry and is free accessible for EUI-Net members.

Non - EUI-Net partners would have been charged by the Organising Committee with a fee of 250 Euro, including all conference documents, refreshments during the days and Dinners including the conference official dinner.

   

Registration 

You need to register to participate to the Workshop. Please, have done so urgently by sending a confirmation message to the Wokshop secreteariat.

The conference will be held in Rome, Hotel Rouge et Noir.
