The
EUI-Net European Network on Co-operation between
University and Industry, funded by the European
Commission under the Erasmus Thematic Network
scheme has been organising its 2nd
European Workshop during 4-5 May 2006 in
the Estonian capital, Tallinn. |
|
|
|
The event
has been devoted to “European
Models of Synergy between Teaching and Research in Higher Education” and
has included papers presented in plenary sessions
on the following topics: |
1. Teaching & Training in Research: PhD supervision. |
|
*
Development of highly qualified human resources by involving doctoral |
|
students in research projects; |
|
* Assisting doctoral students in submitting proposals and developing |
|
research projects; |
|
* Improvement of
the organisational Teaching & Training frame |
|
(doctoral schools, stages in research institutes); |
|
* Results
dissemination by doctoral students' participation in conferences. |
|
2. Actors of the Teaching & Research process:
added value for industry. |
|
*
Conventional EU instruments and their impact on industrial partners |
|
(e.g. FP6 &FP7: IP's, STREP's; CRAFT,
etc); |
|
*
National specific research schemes and their
impact on industrial
partners; |
|
*
Specific university research schemes
(research centers, research contracts, |

graduation- / dissertation theses
initiated or promoted by industry); |

Strengthening actors

Call
for Papers |
|
Prospective
authors have been invited to submit already a full
paper or an extended abstract ( 2 - 4
pages ) before January 15th
2006 with a clear mentioning of the topic
from the list above, the name, the affiliation,
the e-mail address and full address of each
author as well as a contact-author. Submissions
should be done electronically |

Submission
guidelines |
Papers
must be original and not yet submitted
concurrently to a journal or other conference.
The Proceedings will be published by the EUI-Net
Scientific- & Organising Committees. The
instructions for authors follow the usual
guidelines for the submission of papers for a
conference presentation and may be around six to
eight pages or more and shall be submitted in an
electronic format to the Organising Committee. |
All
submissions will be peer-reviewed by a panel of reviewers
from the Scientific Committee. The acceptance /
rejection of the manuscripts will be
based on the results of the review. |
In
submitting an abstract the author(s) agree/s
that, upon acceptance, he/she/they will prepare
the final manuscript in time for the inclusion
in the Workshop Proceedings and that the first
author will present the paper at the Workshop,
paying the conference fees
if required so. |
Authors
of accepted papers do agree to sign the form of
copyrights transfer to EUI-Net. |

Fees |
The 2nd
European Workshop has been held
during the 2nd General
Meeting of the EUI-Net European Network on
Co-operation between University and Industry and has
been free accessible for EUI-Net members. |
Non
- EUI-Net partners would have been charged by the
Organising Committee with a fee of 250 Euro,
including all conference documents, refreshments
during the days and an excellent conference dinner. |

The
conference has been held in
Tallinn, the
beautiful Estonian capital. The initial
